Emily Alaniz Guzman

With over 31 years of professional experience, including more than 18 years at USAA across three different tours, I'm well-versed in the company's P&C and banking lines of business. My background includes leadership roles and a variety of specialized functions, from new member acquisitions and policy service to piloting new divisions and managing complex complaints. I've also held key banking roles at USAA, such as mortgage loan origination officer and manager for deposit disputes and servicing, website customer support, and credit card disputes. Outside of USAA, my experience spans roles at Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Frost Bank, where I served as a mortgage loan officer, military phone banker, and personal banker, respectively. Additionally, I've managed a photography studio and worked in several food and beverage roles to pay my way through college and fund life's unexpected expenses. I'm a first-generation college graduate with an Associate Degree in Communications. My passion for learning continued with a dual-major Bachelor of Business Administration and Management and a Master of Science in Organizational Development and Leadership. I'm currently pursuing a Doctorate of Business Administration and hold a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt. I'm also preparing to test for my SHRM designation this December. I'm an Army daughter, sister, and mom, married to my best friend, Fabian. I enjoy a large blended family and my free time is spent cheering on my children, seeing my grandchildren, serving as choir cantor, volunteering, and traveling.
